APRIL 2026
As we enter the sacred days of Good Friday and Easter, we are invited once again to walk the path of sorrow that leads to unshakable hope. On Good Friday, we gather together at 5pm in our sanctuary for a reverent Tenebrae service. With song and Scripture, we meet together at the foot of the cross and behold the depth of God’s love for sinners like us. There, in the suffering and death of Christ, we see both the weight of our sin and the wonder of our salvation. Jesus willingly bore our griefs, carried our sorrows, and took upon Himself the judgment we deserved. The cross is not merely a symbol of suffering—it is the place where justice and mercy meet, where God’s righteous wrath against sin is satisfied, and where His boundless love is poured out.
Yet, we do not remain at the cross.
Easter morning we gather for worship at our regular time, with a message that changes everything: Christ is risen! The grave could not hold Him. Death has been defeated. The resurrection of Jesus is not only a historical event—it is the living foundation of our hope. And Hope does not disappoint. Because He lives, we too shall live. Because He was raised, we are assured that sin has been conquered, that forgiveness is secure, and that new life has begun for all who put their faith in Him. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things unseen. Christ by His Spirit assures us of His power and love by faith. This resurrection hope speaks into every corner of our lives. In seasons of loss and grief, it reminds us that death does not have the final word. In moments of discouragement, it assures us that God is still at work, bringing life out of what seems dead. In our daily struggle with sin, it gives us gospel confidence that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is at work within us, shaping us into His likeness.
Therefore, let us come together on Good Friday with humility and repentance, and gather on Easter with joy and renewed faith. Let us fix our eyes on Christ—crucified for our sins and raised for our justification. And let us live as people of the resurrection, bearing witness to the hope that is ours in Him. May the peace of the risen Christ fill your hearts and homes this season.
In the hope of the Resurrection,
Your pastor and friend, Edward
